I am gonna blog a little on Taiwan. It's one of my favourite place to go.
Taiwan is a humid region. The northern part, middle (mountainous area) and western plain are abundant with rainfalls in different periods. June to October is the typhoon season in Taiwan, with July to October offering the most activities to experience. The months with the most rainy days are in May and June while thundershower mostly came in the afternoons in summer.
Below are the Average Temperature and (Average Rainfall) for Taipei:
Jan - 14°C / 57°F (36.5mm)
Feb - 15°C / 59°F (83.5mm)
Mar - 17°C / 63°F (60.7mm)
Apr - 21°C / 70°F (95.4mm)
May - 24°C / 75°F (99mm)
Jun - 27°C / 81°F (86.9mm)
Jul - 28°C / 82°F (77.4mm)
Aug - 28°C / 82°F (129mm)
Sep - 26°C / 79°F (152.2mm)
Oct - 23°C / 73°F (75.1mm)
Nov - 20°C / 68°F(27.9mm)
Dec - 16°C / 61°F (27.5mm)
If you want to explore the mountainous range, it is better to go in Summer as it is drier for you to walk. If you are heading south, there are theme parks which you may want to consider going in Summer if you don't mind the heat or Aug to October when it is cooler but it is typhoon season.
Next is to find out how to get there. There are a few airports there, but mostly domestic. There is a international airport called Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport. From Singapore, there are a few airlines that go there, major ones are Singapore Airline, Trans Asia, China Airlines and EVA Airways, budget ones are Scoot, Jetstar and Tiger Airways.
There are a few ways to book a hotel.
1) Book through the hotel's official website.
2) Book through websites like www.agoda.com / www.hotels.com / www.booking.com/
These sites would provide many photos of the hotel, reviews of past customers and the prices are sometimes cheaper than the official hotel website.
3) Ask a local friend of that destination to book for you. Sometimes, they may ask for a deposit to secure the room on the date.
