Taiwan

My partner and I went to Taiwan in Feb 2012, one of our longest trips. We made it a point to travel on a long week at least once a year. So we will start planning like 2 months before the trip to make sure that we are gonna enjoy ourselves. So first, you need to decide and research on the few points below:

1) Select your destination (you need to find out the weather condition in the period you wanna travel)

2) How you are gonna get there, mostly which airline will get you there and the price of the ticket especially
3) Where you gonna stay (usually hotels, motels, home stay etc)
3) Where you are gonna visit, eat or shop
4) What kinda transport you have to take to get from one place to another

Anyway, I'm gonna share where we headed to in Taiwan in our 8 days. It wasn't a good choice to go Taipei in Feb as rain visits most of the time but we just end up there for some reason.

First Day

We took on a flight on TransAsia to Taiwan International Airport. When you reached the Taiwan Airport, there are few options to get to Taipei. You can take a taxi, rent a car, take the airport shuttle to Taoyuan High Speed Rail Station or take the bus to various places. If you are going to Taipei Main Station, look for "Guo Guang" (国光)bus transportation company. There are a few counters out there so look out for the correct one! Tell the counter that you need tickets to Taipei Main Station, and ask them where to wait for the bus. The bus is a better option than the taxi or motor when you have a big group or you have a tight budget. It takes about 30 to 45 mins to reach.

We took a Guo Guang bus service to Taipei where we met my Taiwanese friend. He brought us to the Metro Train Station to buy our tickets to Danshui and we boarded to the train. We took a cab from Danshui station to our hotel and then settled everything down. It was very windy that evening, we had our winter jackets on and headed out to Danshui streets which left us very deep impression.

Just in case you want to know where we stayed. Below are the details.
Fortune Villa Motel
Tel: +886 228051010
Usually we book our stays through Agoda, but this time round, we didn't. We had our Taiwanese friend to book for us as the telephone booking rates would be cheaper and they will require a certain deposit.

Each street is filled with all kinds of souvenir shops, restaurants, small eatery shops. We really enjoyed ourselves.

Tagging friends in FB

I just realized that we could tag friends in FB when sharing a post or writing a status with '@...'

I thought it was just a mobile phone's feature. How dumb of me! *slap forehead*
